nBanks App

The project consists of adapting the essential tools of nBanks platform, creating a mirror of the information added on the digital platform, to easily and quickly consult your company's accounts on a mobile device.

My role

- Conducted user research, prototyping, and UI design;
- Developed a fresh design, simplifying the user experience;
- Created and maintained a comprehensive style guide to ensure visual consistency across the app.

Expected results

- Simplified the registration process, improving user retention;
- Reduced the number of features to expedite the developer handoff;
- Increased accessibility to financial management and transaction features.

User Interview

After implementing the site and improving the platform, we conducted surveys and engaged in direct user feedback, asking: How could the nBanks service make everyday life even easier?

Many responses pointed to the need for quick access to information anywhere and anytime, without having to access the platform through a mobile browser.

The reality is that most company managers simply do not care about fancy technologies and disruptive ideas unless they are simple, intuitive, and require no extra effort to organize information. Simplicity and practicality were the guiding principles that shaped everything, from the app's features to the overall user experience.

For an accounting manager, anything other than numbers and processes can distract or confuse.

To develop the app's architecture, we gathered the most common user complaints about the service and identified the key features that users considered essential for nBanks.

The main highlights were:

- Centralizing all bank accounts in one place for quicker access to information;
- Direct, real-time communication with accountants;
- Automatic alerts for upcoming payment deadlines.

Apart from the ease of use, the simplicity of consulting banking information ware crucial. Analyzing the funnel of banking information, we were able to identify their biggest pain points and streamline the flow for the least amount of steps and highest completion ratio.

Development

Wireframing

From a series of designs, we landed on an MVP app architecture dedicated to facilitating information:

- Fast registration and straight login;
- Streamined access to the company's bank accounts and transactions;
- Automated financial reminders;
- Chat feature for straightforward communication.

A slide menu UI allowed to make the most of the screen dimensions to better show features and later facilitate the implementation of new tools.

Base structure

Apart from the ease of use, the simplicity of consulting banking information ware crucial.

Analyzing the funnel of banking information, we were able to identify their biggest pain points and streamline the flow for the least amount of steps and highest completion ratio.

Quickly and securely access to banking information is the main asset for anyone who manages a customer portfolio or numerous accounts for a group of companies.

Financial management

We designed a simple UI flow to facilitate information access, maintaining the same hierarchy as the original platform.

The app is convenient for use during meetings, lunch, or especially when out of the office without access to a computer.

- A card-based carousel of companies or accounts can be scrolled through or filtered by name;
- Upon selection, users are directed to the detailed content;
- When selecting a company, users can view all its bank accounts, transactions, and balances by currency.

Quick contact

A two-tap interaction within the menu allows users to quickly chat with their accountant to clarify issues, exchange information, and share important files.

Notifications

The calendar feature allows the user to manage collections, policies, loans, fiscal responsibilities, and other  business commitments.

The tool is structured to schedule notifications in all activities relating to corporate obligations. Every time an activity is about to enter the due date, the agenda sends an alert within the platform, which is also triggered as an alert on the mobile phone.

Part of nBanks's promise is to easily delivery bank information. It became clear that a custom icon set was needed, each representing everything we had established as features for the MVP model.

Design System

The platform's complex nature required extensive development of app screens and additional work to organize tasks and prioritize resources effectively.

To ensure a user-friendly experience, I created a modular design system that maintained the visual consistency of the original platform. The key focus was on reusing structures and elements.

Every component can be combined with others, preserving design consistency and familiar UI patterns for the user.

Learnings

Reflection & learnings

This project taught me that the simplest solutions do not always make life easier.

Creating shortcuts to solve tasks can lead to unexpected limitations and inconveniences. Focusing on user needs and following the necessary steps to develop a project is essential for ensuring a successful execution.

Managing my own anxiety, as well as that of the company's owners, was a valuable lesson I learned during this process.
