The brand originates from the same place as its founders, embracing the joy and diversity.
Inspired by the Portuguese word for "ochre," the brand embodies this passion and pride of being from Brasil – yes, with an "s"!
Although the clothes are designed in Canada, they come to life in the city of Porto Alegre, in the south of Brazil, where the company collaborates with local artists and manufacturers for the development of its products. Embracing the community and prioritizing family-owned businesses led by women, are core values introduced within the brand's context, alongside a respect for sustainability and support for cooperatives that implement renewable resource alternatives.
The main goal is to connect curious and creative minds and help them embrace their unique style, from the way they dress to the way they live. Ocre believes that clothes can have their own story, just like people do.
So the idea is to empower people to feel brave and comfortable on their journeys.
Ocre is a natural pigment connected with being-ness, language, soil and earth. The design are inspired by the raw simplicity, textures and colours of this material, balancing art and function to create beautiful and practical clothing. Additionally, the founders' passion for the arid plains and simple towns of the Mediterranean brings an extra layer of inspiration and elements to this already multicultural brand.
